Ruckus - Seamless WiFi
New user demands and technological advances are putting increasing pressure on campus networks, requiring them to scale to support more devices and deliver more bandwidth. Rapid growth in wireless traffic, accelerated by the adoption of 802.11ac and 802.11ax Wi-Fi, is driving the migration from 1GbE to multigigabit in access and increasing the need for faster networks in the aggregation and core.
Companies are growing rapidly, requiring always-on, reliable, high-speed connections to the cloud and leading to downsizing of data centres for which most large chassis/routers are oversized and too complex and expensive to deploy.
Traditional enterprise networks have been designed to use chassis systems to provide reliable, fast and scalable routing capabilities for the campus. With recent advances in network processors, these capabilities can be packaged into a more flexible, stackable switch design. This opens the door to new network architectures where the core can be distributed across the campus and ports and switching capacity can be deployed directly where they are needed.

In a highly competitive market, managed service providers (MSPs) are looking for new ways to differentiate their services and develop new revenue streams. One nascent market is the "mobile-wireless" segment, where new opportunities exist to complement mobile and semi-mobile public access with branded Wi-Fi that complements LTE networks. But integrating with existing LTE networks with mobile Wi-Fi hotspot services has not been easy.
The Ruckus M510 Mobile-wireless Access Point (AP) is an 802.11ac 2x2:2 Wave 2 Wi-Fi AP designed to backhaul LTE networks and connect wirelessly to any network without the need for an Ethernet cable connection.
Because of its LTE wireless backhaul capabilities, the M510 is suitable for multiple deployment scenarios that have not been served before, including in-vehicle mobile Wi-Fi ("mobile AP"), rapid Wi-Fi deployment for pop-up retailers or first responders, and temporary Wi-Fi deployment at a construction site. The M510's LTE backhaul can serve as failover or redundancy for WAN connectivity. In addition, the M510 meets an operator's requirement to provide Wi-Fi connectivity for outdoor mobile hotspots for transit hubs or isolated public locations where wired connectivity is too expensive or impossible.
The M510 AP features patented technologies found only in the Ruckus Wi-Fi portfolio.
- Extended coverage with patented BeamFlex+, which uses multi-directional antenna patterns.
- Improved throughput with ChannelFly, which dynamically finds less congested Wi-Fi channels.
In addition, the M510's built-in GPS allows customers to automatically pinpoint the exact location of any access point on a network or geographic map in real time - greatly simplifying installation, tracking and maintenance.
Whether operators are deploying tens or tens of thousands of APs, the M510 is easily managed through any physical or virtual SmartZone controller. MSPs can take advantage of SmartZone's carrier-grade features, such as resilience and geo-redundancy.
Your benefits:
- MOBILE WI-FI
Superior performance, managed Wi-Fi without cable pulls over an LTE connection to support mobile hotspot requirements. - CARRIER-GRADE MANAGEMENT
The M510 with SmartZone offers carrier-grade management capabilities. MSPs can use physical or virtual SmartZone controllers to manage all APs. - GPS ON BOARD
GPS supports location-based services to track the mobile unit. - WI-FI COVERAGE FOR BUSINESS
With patented BeamFlex+™ adaptive antenna technology and multiple directional antenna patterns, a superior user experience is enabled in any environment. - AUTOMATISING THE OPTIMUM THROUGHPUT
The ChannelFly™ dynamic channel technology uses machine learning to automatically find the least congested channels
; you always get the highest throughput the band can support. - CONNECT MORE DEVICES
Connect more devices simultaneously with two MU-MIMO spatial streams and simultaneous dual-band 2.4/5 GHz radios, while improving the performance of non-Wave 2 devices. - MORE THAN WI-FI
Support services beyond Wi-Fi with Ruckus IoT Suite, Cloudpath security and onboarding software, SPoT Wi-Fi location engine and SCI network analytics.
