Fortinet - Innovations Q4 2019: FortiGate 60F and new FortiSwitch
Fortinet
The Fortinet FortiGate 60F Enterprise Firewall Solution delivers next-generation SD-WAN, routing and firewall capabilities on a single platform with a single pane of glass - for the industry's most reliable SD-WAN with protection against the most advanced security threats and targeted attacks. The FortiGate 60F is based on Fortinet SoC4 ASIC, a purpose-built integrated architecture that provides application visibility and routing with ultra-high throughput and exceptionally low latency, even for encrypted traffic, while delivering perfect security effectiveness and consolidation. Designed for distributed enterprises, the FortiGate 60F Series offers the best price-performance ratio in the industry. With up to 10Gbps firewall throughput and 1.4 Gbps Ips throughput, the FG 60F is the optimal solution for small businesses. Thanks to the 1 Gbps NGFW and up to 700,000 simultaneous TCP/UDP connections, the FG 60F is also up to larger tasks.
- 2x GE RJ45 WAN ports
- 1x GE RJ45 DMZ port
- 2x GE RJ45 FortiLink ports
- 5x GE RJ45 Internal Ports
A 128 GB SSD hard disk has been installed in the FortiGate 61F, otherwise both units are identical. The FortiGate 60F/61F offers next-generation firewall features thanks to its high performance, security efficiency and transparency and is ideally suited for small to medium-sized businesses.
Fortinet is also launching a new FortiSwitch.
The new FortiSwitch M426E-FPOE offers Fortinet's new POE solution with a strong 420 W PoE power budget over 24(r16x 802.3af/at, 8x 802.3af/at/bt) ports.
- 4 x 10 Gigabit SFP+
- 2 x 5 Gigabit RJ45
- 8 x 2.5 Gigabit RJ45 with Ultra-PoE (up to 60 Watt)
- 16 x 1 Gigabit RJ45
With its multigigabit interfaces, this FortiSwitch offers new possibilities for the price class. With a switch throughput of 172 Gbps, the FortiSwitch M426E-FPOE offers a very good price-performance ratio. 255 MPps( packets per second) allow this FortiSwitch to be optimally used by small to medium-sized enterprises. The PoE budget of the M426-FPOE is 420 watts (nice). This allows you to supply all 26 RJ45 ports with PoE (up to 15 watts). This makes the switch ideal for WLAN networks and other PoE-capable devices.
Marcel Zimmer is the Technical Managing Director of EnBITCon. During his time in the German Armed Forces, the trained IT developer was able to gain numerous project experiences. His interest in IT security was significantly awakened by his service in command support. Even after his service, he is an active reservist in the Bundeswehr.
His first firewall was a Sophos UTM 120, which he had to set up for a customer project. Since then, his interest in IT security has grown steadily. In the course of time, various security and infrastructure topics have come into his focus. His most interesting projects included, for example, WLAN coverage in an explosion-proof area, as well as a multi-site WLAN solution for a large
